- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 3/4 c. warm milk
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 5 c. flour
- 1/2 c. butter, melted
Directions

1Soften yeast in water.

2Add milk, shortening, salt, sugar, egg and flour.

3Let stand 2 hours until double in bulk.

4Roll out dough to about 1/2-inch thickness; cut into 4 diamond shapes.

5Dip each piece into butter; place in tube pan.

6Let each piece overlap.

7Make 2 layers.

8Let stand 1 hour.

9Bake in moderate oven until golden brown.

10Serve warm and pull apart.
