- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup chopped bacon (about 3 slices)
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cooking sherry
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 1 (28 ounce) can Italian-style tomatoes
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 teaspoon basil
Directions

1Heat Oil, brown bacon until tender. Add ground beef, ground pork & onion and cook until meat is done. Add all remaining ingredients except the tomato paste and simmer under low heat for 1 hour. Add tomato paste and continue simmering for another 15 minutes.

2Serve over mostaccioli noodles.
