Ingredients

  • 1/4 lb. butter
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 can sour cherries

Directions

    Melt butter in a deep, good-sized baking dish.

    Mix dry ingredients; add milk, mix into a batter and pour into the melted butter without stirring.

    Add 3/4 cup sugar to a can of sour cherries and pour the cherries and juice into the middle of batter.

    Do not stir.

    Bake at 375° for about an hour.

    Serve with whipped cream, topped with a cherry.
