- 1/2 lb. butter or oleo
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. milk
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. lemon
Directions

1Cream butter, sugar and Crisco; add eggs, one at a time.

2Add flour and milk alternately, adding baking powder with the last of the flour.

3Add flavoring.

4Pour into greased and floured tube pan.

5Do not preheat oven.

6Place in cold oven; turn oven on at 350°.

7Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes.

8Do not open oven even once. Makes a large cake that keeps well and also is good frozen.
