Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. apple cider vinegar
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 heads cabbage, shredded
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 bunch celery, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 red onion, chopped
  • 1 carrot, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. celery seed
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard seed

Directions

    Boil water, sugar and vinegar for 3 minutes; set aside to cool.

    Toss shredded cabbage with salt; let set for 1 hour.

    Then add remaining ingredients.

    After liquid has cooled, pour over slaw mixture.

    Cover and refrigerate overnight.

    Makes 25 or more servings.
