- 2 Tbsp. butter, margarine or olive oil
- 1 c. finely chopped onion
- 1 1/2 lb. ground chuck or lamb
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1 tsp. basil
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 cans (8 oz. each) tomato sauce
- dash of pepper
- 1 Tbsp. dried bread crumbs
Directions

1In large pan melt butter, saute chuck, garlic and onions, stirring until brown.

2Add herbs, spices and tomato sauce; bring to boiling, stirring.

3Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, 1/2 hour. Stir in bread crumbs when ready to assemble.
