- 2 c. bran (health food stores have this)
- 1 c. sunflower oil
- 1 qt. buttermilk
- 5 tsp. baking soda
- 2 c. shredded wheat
- 1/2 c. wheat germ
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1 pkg. dark brown sugar
- 5 eggs
- 5 c. flour
Directions

1Pour 1 cup boiling water over cereal; mix thoroughly.

2Add oil and brown sugar; mix again.

3Add the buttermilk, eggs, soda and salt (optional); work in flour gradually.

4Cover; let stand in refrigerator.

5Bake for 20 minutes at 400°.
