  • 2 c. oatmeal
  • 2 c. bran (health food stores have this)
  • 1 c. sunflower oil
  • 1 qt. buttermilk
  • 5 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 c. shredded wheat
  • 1/2 c. wheat germ
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 pkg. dark brown sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 5 c. flour

Directions

    Pour 1 cup boiling water over cereal; mix thoroughly.

    Add oil and brown sugar; mix again.

    Add the buttermilk, eggs, soda and salt (optional); work in flour gradually.

    Cover; let stand in refrigerator.

    Bake for 20 minutes at 400°.
