- 2 c. muskmelon (yellow), stewed
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 egg yolks, well beaten
- 2 egg whites
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/4 c. sugar
Directions

1Cook and mash the melon. Add 1/2 cup sugar, cornstarch, nutmeg, butter and well beaten egg yolks.

2Cook over low heat until thick.

3Add filling to baked 8-inch pie crust.

4Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until frothy.

5Continue beating until stiff and glossy.

6Cover filling with meringue and bake 8 to 10 minutes in 400° oven.
