Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. Onions, sliced
  • 1/3 c. Bacon Drippings
  • 1/3 c. Vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. Prepared Mustard
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 can Tomato Puree (10 oz.)
  • 3/4 c. Boiling Water
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt
  • 1 scant c. Brown Sugar
  • 2 c. Bread Squares
  • 1/4 c. Melted Butter

Directions

    Pour butter over squares.

    Add boiled ingredients, and bake 1/4 to 1/2 hour in a moderate (350°) oven.
