Hershey Chocolate Nut Cake

  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 giant size Hershey bar (4 oz.)
  • 1 c. margarine
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. nuts
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp. butter flavoring

Directions

    Sift flour; cream sugar and margarine until light and fluffy, adding eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

    Melt Hershey bar on low heat (this will be rather thick).

    Add to creamed mixture, blending well.

    Add flour alternately with buttermilk which has soda dissolved in it and flavorings; blend well.

    Add 1 cup chopped nuts.

    Pour into greased and floured stem pan.

    Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.

    (It may take a little longer; test after this length of time.)
