  • 14 cups peeled and diced cucumbers
  • 5 large onions, diced
  • 2 sweet red peppers, diced
  • 3/4 cup pickling salt
  • Dressing
  • 1 cup flour
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 2 cups vinegar
  • 2 cups hot water
  • 2 tablespoons dry mustard
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed

Directions

    combine vegetable, sprinkle with salt and let stand for 2 hours and then drain. Boil dressing for 5 minutes, add vegetables. Boil for 10 minutes, stirring constantly. Add 1 tsp butter and 1 cup whipping cream. Pour into pint jars and seal.
