- 2 c. flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 3 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
- 1 egg
- 2/3 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. honey
Directions

1In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Cut in shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Combine the egg, milk and honey; stir into flour mixture just until combined.

2Turn onto a floured surface; knead 8 to 10 times.

3Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness.

4Cut with a floured 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter.

5Place 1-inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet.

6Bake at 425° for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.

7Serve warm. Yield:
