Ingredients
- 3 c. sugar
- 2 sticks butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. shortening or oil
- 5 eggs
- 3 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. milk
- 2 tsp. lemon extract
- 1 overflowing tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Have all ingredients at room temperature.

2Cream sugar, butter and shortening.

3Beat in eggs one at a time.

4Add flour, salt and baking powder, alternately with milk, lemon extract and vanilla.

5Beat well.

6Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

7Cool for 15 minutes in pan.

8Turn out on rack to finish cooling.
