- 1 1/2 c. elbow macaroni
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- 2 c. milk
- 1/4 c. onions, finely chopped
- 8% sharp process American cheese (2 c.)
Directions

1Cook macaroni in boiling water with salt until tender.

2Drain. In saucepan, melt 3 tablespoons butter.

3Blend in flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper.

4Add milk; cook and stir until thick and bubbly.

5Add onions and cheese sauce with macaroni.

6Turn into 1 1/2-quart casserole.

7Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes or until heated through.

8Makes 6 servings.
