Napa Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 large head Napa cabbage, chopped (discard core)
  • 6 green onions, diced
  • 4 oz. slivered almonds
  • 4 oz. sunflower seeds
  • 2 pkg. Ramen noodles (remove flavor packets)
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. safflower or sunflower oil
  • 1 1/2 c. tarragon vinegar
  • 1 stick oleo or butter

Directions

    Mix cabbage and green onions and refrigerate overnight or at least 2 hours.

    Break noodles into small pieces and saute them with the almonds and the sunflower seeds in the butter until lightly browned, then refrigerate.

    Combine cabbage mixture and noodle mixture about 2 hours before serving.

    Mix soy sauce, sugar, oil and vinegar and pour over salad about 15 minutes before serving.

    This makes a very large salad.
