- 4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 cake yeast
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. cold sweet milk
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients together. Work the shortening into the dry mixture.

2Dissolve the yeast in the cup of sweet milk, then add the beaten egg yolks to the milk mixture and add to the dry ingredient mixture.

3Place in a bowl in the refrigerator overnight.

4The next morning, beat the egg whites stiff and add the sugar cinnamon to this.

5Divide the dough into 3 equal portions. Roll out 1/4-inch thick and spread 1/3 of the filling on each. Roll up jelly roll fashion.

6Place seam down on cookie sheet in the form of a crescent.

7This makes 3 crescents.

8Let stand exactly 1 hour and bake 40 minutes at 345°.
