Ingredients
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. soft shortening
- 1 egg
- 1 c. boiling water
- 4 c. all-purpose flour
Directions

1Soak warm water and yeast.

2Cream together sugar, salt, shortening and egg.

3Pour 1 cup boiling water over mixture.

4Mix together well.

5Let mixture cool and add yeast mixture.

6Add 4 cups all-purpose flour.

7Refrigerate dough 2 hours before ready to use. Take out of refrigerator and put into rolls.

8Let rise 2 hours. Bake at 400° until golden brown.

9Makes about 18 rolls.
