- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 c. water
- 3 egg whites
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 6 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Combine 2 tablespoons sugar and 1 tablespoon cornstarch in a small saucepan.

2Add 1/2 cup water and cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture is thick and clear; cool.

3Beat three egg whites with 1/8 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract until soft mounds form.

4Add 6 tablespoons of sugar gradually, beating well after each addition.

5Add cornstarch mixture.

6Continue beating until meringue stands in stiff peaks.
