  • 1 c. warm water
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3/4 c. salad oil
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 5 c. flour (if using self-rising flour, omit salt and baking powder)

Directions

    Mix together water, yeast and sugar. When yeast dissolves, add salad oil, buttermilk, baking soda, salt and flour. Cover; let stand in the refrigerator for awhile or overnight (good for a week). Form into biscuits by rolling on floured surface or by hand. Bake at 450° for 10 to 12 minutes.
