- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 c. cold shortening
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1/4 c. water
- 1 beaten egg
Directions

1Mix flour and salt; cut in shortening until the mixture resembles corn meal.

2Add liquid ingredients.

3Chill and roll out. No matter how much the crust is handled, it comes out flaky. Bake single crusts at 425° for about 10 minutes.

4Follow recipe directions when doing double crust pies.

5Using a circle of foil around the edge of these for a few minutes during baking helps avoid overbaking the edges of the pies.
