  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. water

    Blend first 3 ingredients.

    Add shortening.

    Mix with a fork. Mix separately the vinegar, egg and water.

    Add to flour.

    Chill 15 minutes.

    Roll out.

    Makes 2 (9-inch) pies or 4 single crust pies.

    May be frozen if well wrapped.
