- 1 c. shortening
- 1 c. cold water
- 6 or 7 c. plain flour
- 1 c. boiling water
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 yeast cakes or 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 well beaten eggs
- 2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Cream sugar and shortening together.

2To this, add boiling water and stir.

3Let cool.

4Dissolve yeast in 1 cup of cool water. Add salt, eggs and flour; beat until smooth.

5Leave in bowl until it rises to double.

6Set in refrigerator at least 2 hours before baking.

7Bake in a 350° oven until brown.
