- 1/2 c. lukewarm water
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1 c. cold water
- 4 2/3 c. flour
- 1 egg
Directions

1Combine salt, sugar and shortening.

2Cream well.

3Add cold water and yeast that has been dissolved in the 1/2 cup warm water. Add well beaten egg and 2 cups flour.

4Stir until smooth, then add 2 2/3 cups flour, dough will be a little soft.

5Put in greased bowl and let rise until double in bulk.

6Punch down and put in refrigerator at least 2 hours before using.

7Overnight is better.
