Ingredients
- 1 c. scalding water
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 2 1/2 to 3 c. flour
- 1 egg, beaten
Directions

1Cream shortening, salt and sugar together.

2Put yeast in lukewarm water and melt.

3Add scalding water to creamed mixture and melt.

4Let cool to lukewarm and add egg and yeast.

5Add flour and make soft batter.

6Put in refrigerator from 1 to 24 hours.

7Take out and make bread or rolls; let rise to double in bulk.

8Cook in hot oven (450°) for 15 to 20 minutes.
