  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1/2 c. chopped cherries
  • 1/2 c. Funsten's blanched almonds
  • 1 slightly beaten egg
  • 3 1/2 to 4 c. sifted flour

Directions

    Heat the butter and milk to melt butter.

    Cool to lukewarm. Soften the yeast in the warm water. Stir in sugar, salt, raisins, cherries, almonds, egg and the milk mixture. Gradually add the flour to form a stiff dough, beating well after each addition. Let rise, then bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.
