- 1 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. butter (not margarine)
- 2 egg whites
Directions

1Preheat oven to 325°.

2Toast pecans in oven for 8 minutes to warm them.

3Beat egg whites until soft peaks form.

4Add salt. Continue beating until slightly stiffened.

5Add sugar gradually until stiff peaks form.

6Add vanilla and beat until well blended. Fold warmed pecans into meringue mixture.
