- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/3 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 egg
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. melted butter
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 c. coarsely chopped pecans
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients together.

2Beat egg; add sugar and mix well.

3Stir in buttermilk and butter.

4Blend in dry ingredients quickly, just until moistened.

5Add nuts.

6Pour batter into a buttered loaf pan 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 3/4-inches.

7Bake in a preheated oven to 350° for 30 to 40 minutes or until done in the center.

8Remove from pan and cool on cake rack.

9Makes one loaf.
