- 1 c. shortening
- 1/2 lb. butter
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 1 (1 lb.) box light brown sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Cream butter and shortening; add sugar, 1 cup at a time.

2Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each.

3Sift together the sifted flour and baking powder; add alternately with milk, beating well. (Start and end with flour.)

4Add vanilla; mix.

5Add nuts and mix well.

6Pour into greased, floured tube pan.

7Bake at 300° for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until cake tests done.
