  • 2/3 c. Crisco
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Blend sugar, Crisco and eggs.

    Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.

    Mix well. Stir in vanilla and nuts.

    Spread in greased 8-inch square pan. Bake at 375° for 25 to 30 minutes. Sprinkle cooled brownies with confectioners sugar or spread with cocoa frosting.
