- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 3/4 c. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. butter, melted
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Cream softened butter and cream cheese.

2Add to flour and cut in until mixture resembles coarse meal.

3With lightly floured hands, form into a smooth ball.

4Using a rounded teaspoonful of dough press into tiny cupcake pans so as to make a shell.

5Combine egg, sugar, butter, vanilla and salt.

6Mix well.

7Stir in nuts and turn into shells.

8Bake at 350° for 15 minutes, then at 250° for 10 minutes.

9Cool before removing from pan.

10Makes about 2 dozen tarts.

11I put the nuts into the shells and spoon the egg mixture on top, instead of putting the nuts into the egg mixture.
