- 4 qt. (16 c.) popped popcorn
- 2 c. salted peanuts
- 3/4 c. margarine or butter
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1 (3 oz.) pkg. red or green flavored gelatin
- 3 Tbsp. water
- 1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
Directions

1Heat oven to 250°.

2Place popcorn and peanuts in 2 ungreased 15 x 10 x 1-inch baking pans.

3In medium saucepan, combine margarine, sugar, gelatin, water and corn syrup.

4Cover over medium-low heat until sugar and gelatin dissolve, stirring constantly.

5Using candy thermometer, continue cooking to 255° (Fahrenheit, hard ball stage), stirring constantly.

6Pour syrup over popcorn and peanuts; stir to coat.

7(Mixture will be hot.)
