  • 2 23 cups oatmeal (not instant)
  • 34 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 14 cup plus 1tablespoon vegetable shortening (oleo or butter can be used)
  • 13 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3 -4 tablespoons milk

Directions

    Grease baking sheet.

    Mix oatmeal, flour and baking powder.

    Cut in the fat until you have coarse crumbles.

    mix in sugar and enough milk for a firm dough.

    Knead for 2 minutes.

    Roll dough to 1/4 inch thick and cut into circles.

    Bake 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees until golden brown.

    Serve warm.
