  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
  • 12 cup dark molasses
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 1 package outdated dry yeast, for flavor (optional)
  • 12 cup warm water (about 110-115 degrees F)
  • 5 -6 cups unbleached flour
