- 4 c. boiling water
- 3 c. rolled oats (old-fashioned or quick)
- 7 1/2 to 8 c. flour
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 Tbsp. salad oil
- 1/2 c. molasses (light or dark corn syrup may be used)
Directions

1Pour water over oatmeal in a large bowl; cool.

2Stir in 2 cups of flour and yeast.

3Raise, uncovered, until doubled in bulk. Punch down; work in salt, oil, molasses and enough flour to make a stiff dough.

4Knead, adding extra flour is necessary for about 10 minutes.

5Divide in 3. Form loaves in 3 buttered 9 x 5 x 3-inch pans.

6Allow to rise again until doubled.

7Bake in 350° oven for 60 minutes.
