- 1 1/2 c. scalded milk
- 2 c. rolled oats
- 2/3 c. butter or Crisco
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1/2 c. light brown sugar
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 eggs
- 5 1/2 c. flour
Directions

1Mix milk, oats, butter, salt and brown sugar.

2Cool to lukewarm.

3Combine yeast and water. Stir in oat mixture.

4Mix with eggs and flour and let stand 1 hour.

5Punch down.

6Divide in 2 loaves.

7Let rise 1 hour.

8Bake at 350° for 45 to 60 minutes.
