- 1 c. oatmeal
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 envelope yeast
- 2 c. boiling water
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- about 5 c. flour
Directions

1Add boiling water to oatmeal, molasses, salt and butter.

2Let stand a few minutes.

3Add 2 cups of flour and yeast dissolved in 1/4 cup warm water.

4Beat until well mixed.

5Add about 3 cups more flour to make a stiff dough.

6Knead well on floured board.

7Place in greased bowl and let rise until doubled.

8Knead again; form into 2 loaves and place in two 8 x 4-inch bread pans.

9Allow to rise again.

10Bake at 350° for 40 minutes.
