  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/3 c. flour
  • 1 c. quick oats
  • 1 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs

Directions

    Pour boiling water over oats; let stand for 20 minutes.

    Cream together brown sugar, white sugar, shortening and eggs.

    Add cream mixture to dry ingredients; cinnamon, soda, salt and flour.

    Add oats.

    Bake at 350° until done and toothpick comes out clean. Frost with favorite icing.
