  • 1 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. oatmeal
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Pour boiling water over oatmeal and let cool.

    Beat Crisco, white sugar, brown sugar and eggs well and add to oatmeal mixture. Stir in flour, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.

    Add to first mixture along with the chopped nuts.

    Bake in long pan at 350° for 35 minutes.
