- 1 lb. okra
- 3 slices bacon, cut 1-inch
- 1/4 c. water
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
- 1 tsp. chili powder
Directions

1Cut okra crosswise in 1-inch pieces.

2Fry bacon crisp.

3Fry okra in bacon drippings.

4Remove okra and cook onion until tender, stirring to keep from burning.

5Add tomatoes after breaking into small pieces.

6Bring to boil, then add okra and bacon mixture and chili powder.

7This is good with rice.
