- 2 c. milk
- 3 c. bread crumbs
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon or nutmeg
Directions

1Heat milk until skin forms on top.

2Pour over bread crumbs; add margarine and raisins.

3Let cool.

4Beat eggs slightly and mix with sugar, salt and spice.

5Mix in cooled crumb mixture.

6Pour in a buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.

7Bake at 350° for 40 to 50 minutes.

8To test for doneness, insert a knife in the center.

9It should come out clean.

10The bread pudding can also be baked in a large loaf pan.
