- 3 c. soft bread crumbs, cubed
- 2 1/2 c. scalded milk
- 3 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Place in 1 1/2-quart baking dish 3 cups bread crumbs.

2Beat eggs.

3Add sugar, salt, nutmeg and vanilla.

4Add scalded milk. Blend into crumbs.

5Bake in pan of hot water 1-inch deep.

6Bake until silver knife inserted 1-inch from side comes out clean at 350°, about 40 to 45 minutes.

7Serve warm.
