Old Fashioned Bread Stuffing

  • 1/2 c. margarine or butter
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1 tsp. rubbed sage
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • dash of black pepper
  • 1/2 c. chicken broth
  • 8 c. dried bread cubes or 10 to 12 slices torn up bread

Directions

    Cook and stir onion and celery in margarine in medium skillet over medium heat until tender.

    Stir in seasonings.

    Add onion mixture and chicken broth to bread in large bowl.

    Toss to mix; stuff turkey

    or bake separate as a side dish.

    Makes 8 cups, enough to stuff 12 to 14 pound turkey.
