- 2 c. cornmeal
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 1/4 c. bacon drippings
- 3 tsp. baking powder
Directions

1Combine cornmeal, soda, baking powder and salt; stir in eggs and buttermilk.

2Heat bacon drippings in an 8-inch cast-iron skillet until very hot.

3Add drippings to batter and mix well. Pour batter into hot skillet and bake at 450° for about 25 minutes.
