  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 (8-ounce) package chopped dates
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup uncooked quick-cooking oats
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup Land O Lakes Butter, softened

    Grease 8-inch square baking pan; set aside.

    Combine water, 1/4 cup brown sugar and dates in 1-quart saucepan.

    Cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, 4-5 minutes or until mixture thickens and comes to a boil.

    Cool at least 30 minutes.

    Heat oven to 350F.

    Combine all crust ingredients in bowl.

    Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

    Reserve 1 cup.

    Press remaining crumbs into prepared pan.

    Spoon filling over crust; sprinkle with reserved crumbs.
