Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. light Karo
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- food coloring (if desired)
- flavoring desired
Directions

1Combine sugar, Karo, water and cream of tartar.

2Place over heat.

3Stir until sugar dissolves.

4Cook, without stirring, to 265° on candy thermometer.

5Remove from heat; add coloring and flavoring, if desired.

6Pour on greased platter or pie pan.

7Cool until easily handled.

8Pull into ropes until chalky and porous. Break or cut into bite-size pieces with scissors.
