Old-Fashioned Rice Pudding

  • 1/2 cup uncooked long grain rice
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ground cinnamon for garnish

    Preheat oven to 325F.

    In a saucepan, combine milk, rice, sugar and salt; bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.

    Pour into a greased 1-1/2-qt.

    Cover and bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.

    Add vanilla; cover and bake for 15 minutes longer.

    Remove from oven and let stand 15 -20 minutes to set up and thicken.
