- 5 lb. fresh turnip greens with roots
- 1/2 lb. salt pork
- 6 to 8 c. water
- 2 tsp. bacon drippings
- green onion (optional)
Directions

1Pick and wash turnip greens.

2Tear into bite-size pieces. Peel the turnip roots and slice.

3Rinse salt pork and cut into 2-inch pieces.

4Combine salt pork and water in a large Dutch oven; bring to a boil.

5Cover; reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes.

6Add turnip greens; cover and cook 10 minutes.

7Add turnip roots and bacon drippings.

8Cover and cook 15 to 20 minutes or until greens and roots are tender.

9Serve with green onions.
