- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 2 c. milk, scalded
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 2 tsp. salt
- 6 c. all-purpose flour
Directions

1Sprinkle dry yeast into the warm water.

2Let stand a few minutes, then stir until dissolved.

3Pour hot milk over butter, sugar and salt.

4Cool to lukewarm and add yeast and 3 cups of flour.

5Beat well.

6Add remaining flour and mix well.

7Turn out onto floured board and knead until smooth and satiny.

8Put into a greased bowl; turn once.

9Cover with plastic wrap and let rise until doubled, about 1 1/2 hours.

10Punch down.
