- 2 lb. round beef steak
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. oil
- 1 qt. tomatoes
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 c. sliced celery
- 1 c. carrots, sliced
- salt and pepper to taste
- 4 c. hot cooked rice or noodles
Directions

1Cut a 3/4-inch round steak into serving size pieces.

2Dredge meat into flour, salt and pepper mixture.

3Pound flour into meat with a meat mallet.

4In an iron Dutch oven, brown meat on both sides in hot oil.

5Drain fat and add tomatoes and vegetables. Bring to a boil on top of stove with a lid.

6Transfer to a 350° oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

7Serve over a bed or rice.
