Ingredients
- 1/2 c. cold water
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 3 1/4 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. boiling water
Directions

1Soak yeast in 1/2 cup cold water.

2Cream together shortening and sugar; add to this 1/2 cup boiling water and mix until well blended.

3Add eggs and then yeast, mixing well.

4Add dry ingredients.

5When this is mixed, it will be a stiff batter.

6Put in refrigerator overnight.

7About an hour before serving, roll out. Let rise.

8Bake at 400° until as brown as you like.

9(Can be shaped into cloverleaf rolls.)

10Put in greased muffin tins to brown.
